Brief Notes of Committee meeting held on 17th April 2009
Among matters discussed were claims for expenses and the submission of budgets to Essex Area.
The Publicity Secretary was pleased to report, Information Centres and Libraries were regularly updated with group information.
The Spring meal booked at the “Fat Goose” was cancelled due to lack of interest by the restaurant. The meal was successfully held at the “Snooty Fox”.
Arrangements concerning running a coach for group holidays was discussed as was democratic decision making by the committee.

Tendring Ramblers Group
The Tendring Rambles Group was formed in 1991 when it was decided to split the Colchester Group into two. The following are extracts from the minutes of committee meetings.
At the meeting held 8th March 1996 It was agreed that the group order Sweatshirts with the Tendring Ramblers logo embroidered on them. Theses could be provided in 6 different colours.
It was proposed that £10. be donated as a goodwill gesture to church/village halls where we are allowed to use the parking facilities
The chairman reported the group holiday arranged for September this year at Barlings Barn in Wales was fully booked.
At the meeting held 28th June 1996 It was reported that a coach trip to Sandringham had been arranged.
Head Office advised that 5 slide shows were available on the work of the Ramblers Association.
A request was made for new walks leaders. (Some things never change)
At the meeting held 25th October 1996 A coach trip was arranged to the Thames Barrier during March 1997.
The Christmas lunch had been booked at the “Red Lion”, Kirby, at a cost of £8.95.
An Essex Area Quiz evening was arranged and invitations sent to all Essex groups inviting them each to send a team of 8 people to take part.
