Tendring Ramblers Walks for December 2011

 

Please Note:  The use of reflective jackets is required for safety reasons and for the identification of the leader/back marker.

 

If the weather is inclement please contact the leader to check whether a walk is still taking place – changes and cancellations will also be posted on the web site.

Short walks (5miles or less) are highlighted in  green

 

Thursday 1st at 10.00 – Wivenhoe – Meet and park in cliff top car park opposite church (TM 038215) for a pleasant stroll to Alresford Creek along a river bank, through woods, pastures & fields.  Bring a hot drink & picnic – no pub stop.

Thursday 1st at 10.30 – Little Oakley – Meet at the Cherry Tree ph (TM 217291) for a linear walk to Harwich Beer Festival or return by bus. No 3 leaves Clacton at 9.40 calling at Lt. Clacton and Thorpe.

Sunday 4th at 10.00 – Long Melford – Meet at the car park, through village, in front of Long Melford Church (TL 864467). A circular walk following the path of the River Glem, walking through woods and returning via Chadbrook. No Pub stop - please bring drinks and picnic lunch.

Thursday 8th at 10.00 & 13.30 – Ipswich – Park in the road or use the car park at the “Golf Hotel”, 748 Foxhall Road (TM 204438) for a figure-of-eight walk, visiting Purdis Heath and Foxhall in the morning and Rushmere in the afternoon.  Pub food available.

Sunday 11th at 10.30 – Carol Service Walk – Meet at Lawford Church (TM 088315) for a walk in the surrounding area. Please bring picnic lunch and drinks. The walk will be followed by the Annual Carol Service at 15.00. All members are welcome to attend the service whether they walk or not.

Please park your cars in the second car park through the gates just past the church.

Wednesday 14th at 10.00 – Stutton – Meet at the Stutton Community Hall car park  (TM 144347) for a walk via Stutton Church, Holbrook Bay and Holbrook Mill.

Thursday 15th  at 10.00 – Dedham – Meet at the free car park (TM 058334) for an old favourite with a twist via Flatford & East Bergholt.  Possible pub stop at East Bergholt for drinks only.

Thursday 15th at 10.00 - Meet in The Crown Hotel, Manningtree at 10.00 for Coffee/Tea and Biscuits. A leisurely walk around the river and local area leaving The Crown at 10.30, returning by 1.00 pm for lunch at 1.30 pm.

Sunday 18th at 10.00 – Dedham – Meet at Dedham free car park  (TM 058334) for an undulating walk to Langham. Please bring picnic lunch and drinks.
